Taste of Pinecrest

The Brain Fair

The Brain Fair is a free educational event sponsored by the University of Miami . The Brain Fair is designed to teach children and their parents about how the brain and spinal cord works. The children will get to participate in hands-on learning activities such as building a neuron, drawing a brain on a shower cap, and playing memory games. There are also lectures for adults given by University of Miami neuroscientists on topics such as Autism, Sleep Disorders, Brain Injury, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Deering Seafood Festival

Towering stilt walkers welcome guests to the family-friendly Deering Seafood Festival, on Sunday, March 27th for a magical, island-style celebration. New this year is the Deering Discovery Cove, a simulated underwater archaeological adventure. The Cove, was created by the Estate’s Education staff, and kids build their own sea-worthy vessels, discover marine life, uncover sunken treasures and learn about bioluminescence and animal adaptation.
