Celebrate Royal Poinciana Fiesta at The Kampong

This June South Floridians once again celebrate the Royal Poinciana tree’s explosion of color during the Annual Royal Poinciana Fiesta.Nowhere is more appropriate to admire this beautiful flowering tree than at The Kampong, former home and personal garden of David and Marian Fairchild, who are reputed to have started the festival, now known as the fiesta, 75 years ago.
Special admission $8 Adults, $5 Children. Includes one-hour Guided Tour, available at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Big Truck Days

Mousetrap Car Workshop: Learn how to build a ‘Mousetrap Car’. Families can build their own and then race them.
Speedway (Early Childhood Learning): Use building blocks to create ramps of different sizes to test how fast and how far your toy car can roll.
Lego Car Prototyping space: Use Legos to build and test your own solar powered or air powered car, take a picture of your creation and post it to our gallery screens to make it part of the exhibit.

Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: WINN) gets into the Halloween spirit and welcomes children to participate in festive pumpkin decorating workshops at select stores. As part of the workshops, children ages three to 13 will have the opportunity to decorate bright orange pumpkins with assorted paints and will receive a Winn-Dixie Halloween-themed apron and hat. In addition, children will also have the chance to transform into their favorite characters by getting their faces painted. The workshops, which begin at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively, will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes and will accommodate the first 20 children present.
