The Miami Science Museum combines two of its most well known events, Snake Day and Lizard Day, to bring you Reptile Day! New this year is our Turtle and Tortoise category. Miami Book Fair International

Pirate Weekend at Miami Seaquarium

The first 150 children each day will receive a swashbuckling gift and those sporting their favorite pirate garb will pay only $10 plus tax for admission with a paid adult. Those who complete Davy Jones’ treasure hunt are in for an especially sweet treat. The park also will feature guest appearances by Salty, its resident pirate, before the exhilarating pirate high wire show.
Pirates Weekend is a part of the “Swashbuckling Summer” program. Running all summer long, the program features exciting daily high wire acts by the pillaging “Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean,” a Giant Water Slide that is over 25 feet tall and a Pirate Skeleton Walk with friendly pirates that are guaranteed to put a smile on kid’s faces. Guests should also prepare to hit the deck as Pirates take over the Top Deck Dolphin Show.

Pirate Adventure @ The Falls

The Falls, one of the largest open-air shopping, dining and entertainment complexes in the United States, is inviting South Florida families to invade the high seas at The Falls during a wild “Pirate Adventure,” a Simon Kidgits Club pirate-themed event, on Saturday, July 9.  During this special event, a pirate magician will astound the crowd with a jaw-dropping magic show.  The Falls will treat all pirates-in-training to their own pirate booty bag, complete with loads of free loot, including pirate swords, eye-patches, coin necklaces, buckaneer bandanas and rings, while supplies last.
“Pirate Adventure” is one of several programs and events held throughout the year at The Falls for members of the Simon Kidgits Club, which focuses on health, wellness, education, safety and entertainment for children.
FREE for Kidgits members; $5 for general public. Families can sign up for the Kidgits Club, during regular mall hours, for a membership fee of $5. Mango Festival

Fairchild’s 19th Annual International Mango Festival will celebrate the Mangos of Hawaii. Attendees will enjoy a reading by a local author, a performance by PBS Kids host, Mr. Steve and appearances by PBS Kids characters, Hooper and Super Why. The event is free and open to the public. The event is part of the Soar with Reading program, a free literacy program launched by PBS Kids and JetBlue to keep children reading and beat the summer learning slide.
