August already… yes August is almost here which means school is starting and many holiday’s to come in the next couple of months. I feel like we should try to enjoy our last weeks of summer so I’ve listed some events going on for the month of August.

Disney Store Grand Opening Celebration
Where: Aventura Mall , Lower Level near JCPenney
When: Saturday, August 29, 2009 @ 10:00am
Celebrate the opening of the new Disney Store with the ribbon cutting ceremony in front of Disney Store with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.FREE Mickey Mouse Ears to the first 100 kids. (while supplies last) 12:00-4:00 p.m., Center Court Meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.Radio Disney’s Road Crew will be onsite with music, games and fun.

Pottery Barn Book Club
Where: Pottery Barn Kids @ Merrick Park : 350 San Lorenzo Ave, Coral Gables FL 33146
When: Every Tuesday at 11:00am – 11:30am
Kids of all ages are invited to stop by the store for a special story time. Members receive an official Book Club Card at their first story time, and a special gift after attending five story-times.

American Girl: Cool Event
Where: Cool-De-Sac
When: Thursday, August 13,2009 @ 5:30pm
Are your girls into the American Girl collection? Then we have an event for you! Your daughter will have a chance to meet other girls like them with a love for the worlds of Felicity, Kaya, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit, Molly, and Julie. Come enjoy your Friday night at the beautiful Morikami Japanese Gardens and have some delicious sushi. This event also includes an amazing taiko drum performance.

Kevin & Caruso: New Wave Magic Show

Bon Festival
Where: The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens

The Bon Festival is inspired by Obon, Japan’s traditional three-day holiday honoring ancestors and thanking them for the quality of life enjoyed by the living.Highlights include rousing taiko drum performances, traditional Japanese folk dancing with audience participation, and a street fair with games and vendor booths.A special fireworks display caps the enchanting evening.
